The journal was originally founded in 2020 under the title Renewable Energy Sources, Energy Policy and Energy Management (ISSN: 2717-9583). As of April 2025, it continues its publication under the new name Electrical Engineering and Energy (ELENE).  All previously published content remains accessible under the former ISSN (2717-9583).
